Hi r/asktrp. I recently discovered that I was being a horrible Beta, but I'm starting to make some progress, especially with controlling my body language. I'm making an effort to build a strong frame for myself, but I've run into an issue that's confusing for me.

I have a few (25-ish) followers on Twitter, and up until a day or two ago, they were all my friends. However, a girl from one of my classes followed me on Twitter, and I'd like a little advice on how to proceed.

She's around a 5-6, in my opinion, and we haven't even had a basic conversation before. I'm curious about why she followed me, but I don't want to appear a needy Beta to her if I ask. It might not help that I followed her back, but I did wait around 10 hours before doing so.

The goal of this would be to probably exchange phone numbers, or at the very least have a conversation. There are plenty of text/gaming related topics, but none really like this. I also can't really talk to her face-to-face yet, because there's not really an opportunity to talk to her without being surrounded by her friends.

The main question seems to be: How exactly do I start a conversation with her using Twitter, (or face to face if that's really not an option) and figure out why she randomly decided to follow me, without coming across as a Beta?
