This is just background, reading this is optional. Last week I got some girl's number after approaching her at the mall. I was actually a little tired of the bullshit I had to go through lately after talking to girls for like 10-15 minutes and then getting no text back. So I decided to just go up to girls and open, have a quick 1-5 minute exchange and say something like "Okay, I've got to go but first you're gonna give me your number." Got this girl's number and she texts me back like 3 minutes after I send a "nice to meet you" text.

Okay this is the actual question

So texting was great up until yesterday, where I started to get a little boring and fucked up a couple times with shit I said. I took her to watch a movie Christmas Eve. I opened with a hug, but didn't build as much kino as I wanted. This was partly because I was being a little bitch and partly because the girl seemed really nervous. I think how relaxed I was acting during the outing may have offset her a bit. She texted me after the movie saying she had a lot of fun.

That brings us to the day after. Right after the movie, I brought up maybe going on a hike to watch the sunrise on Saturday. I texted her the afternoon of the day after the movie asking if she was free on Thursday. She said she was going to see the zoo lights or something, so I asked about Wednesday. She said she was busy then too, no explanation or offer of another day.

A day later, we're texting and as the conversation draws to an end I say "You should let me know when you're free" and there's no reply. That brings us to today. I haven't dropped this yet because I want to keep this girl on the back burner while I continue improving my pickup game as a sort of psychological tactic on myself. I've had a hard time with the whole "don't care" mentality, and what better way to be carefree about a girl you met when you have another you can always take to places. Also, this girl just seems really shy. She shows plenty of good signs over text most of the time (fast replies, lols, emojis, exclamation points), so I'm thinking she doesn't want to meet too often because she wants to take it slow or something. And the whole "taking it slow" thing is actually perfect because it will give me room to meet other girls.
