I think it's just bad word choice on Manson's part. He doesn't really advise you to be vulnerable, as you're understanding it. 'Vulnerable' implies that you're putting yourself in a weak emotional position. What Manson is actually telling you to do is to align your actions with your intentions. You're vulnerable because you're not hiding behind anything.

example: You're telling a story. Why are you telling a story? Because you want to tell a story. You have no ulterior motive. The story is just a good story. You're not trying to to impress anyone, you're not trying to win them over. You're just doing something that you enjoy.

It's frame by another name, man.

I haven't read models and don't plan on doing so.

From cross-reading Rollo's post, I certainly agree with him. The concept of builiding attraction ny showing vulnerability just doesn't make sense at all.

However it makes sense with another kind of intention, which is often under-represented here: Building trust and comfort, especially in an LTR.

It's like deliberatly doing small favours to people while having the big picture in the back of your mind.

Showing vulnerability to a certain amd small degree, might calm down the hamster a little bit and benefit yourself by having to deal with less drama.

This doesn't mean exposing your achille's heel, but finding a balance between constant dread and being completely dependent.

I'm with Rollo. Although "vulnerability" can generate arousal because of the emotional charge it carries in most cases it causes a man to look weak.

I think it only works when it's done intentionally. When you are in the midst of a seduction and display vulnerability by choice, it adds to the emotional roller coaster that turns women on so well.

But if you appear vulnerable involuntarily because of overwhelming negative emotions, you appear weak and lacking control, which turns women off because they can no longer see you as a source of protection.

I'm Marks book, vulnerability is not the emotional kind there you expose your feeling and thoughts. He's logic is that the man should face vulnerability to show strength and confidence.

In his book, every time I see "being vulnerable" I replace in mi head by "taking risks".
