I'm not going to put near the story I did on the original reddit post, so I'll keep it short.

I'm 26, married with two kids, me and wife had been together ten years. I've definitely come to realize I've been a beta male when it came to our relationship, we are currently divorcing and she doesn't help keep the kids, I'm always picking up her slack with them and she's a wreck, blames it all on me. She was an emotionally, mentally and at the end even physically abusive and cheating wife.

I've started standing up for myself and asserting myself much more the past two months and it meets with even more resistance from her and a constant "Anger, sadness, needy" cycle from her even though she is currently with someone else.

We used to still frequently have sex, with me having the kids all the time, working, and going to school I don't exactly have time to meet anyone to fill those needs. I'm realizing that all that is just an excuse I use to try to hold onto something that isn't there anymore and still seems "Beta male" mentality.

I just want to make sure I'm doing this right. I feel tons better since I've started but still have my ups and downs. Going to the gym as I can, trying to set up dates with women, even if I'm not particularly attracted to them, and reading more resources on the subject.

Anyone made the transition from beta to alpha mind sharing what helped them or what pointed them in the right direction and kept them going?

Apologies if this is in the wrong area, more than happy to migrate it to the correct area if pointed that way.
