I wasn’t sure what to make the title, so fuck me if it’s off base to my issue here…

To give some background, there is a coffee shop close to where I live where I frequent. I’m usually there anywhere from once to four/five times a week depending on when I’m out. I do meeting there sometimes, or grab a coffee when I’m out doing errands on my way out or on my way home. I have gotten to know most of the staff pretty well (all teens/twenties women). It’s great for some social proof, light flirting, and in general, good conversation from time to time.

Anyway, there is this one woman who works there (Swedish, 25F) that I have seen over the last few months. She started working there on a part-time basis after the shutdowns for some extra cash since she is here for university (study abroad program). She is one of the girls I see on occasion and have a pretty good rapport with. I know her pretty well to the point of where her home city is, her schooling program, that she has a cough fiancé (lives in my city), and some other info about her personal life.

Earlier today, while I was on my way home, I decided to stop and grab a coffee. The shop was pretty dead and I noticed her working alone on the floor. We chatted for around 10 minutes and caught up with each other since I haven’t seen her for a few weeks. There was a bit of light flirting and shit talk on my end with her laughing and asking me questions before I left. Afterward in the evening when I got home from going out, I noticed that she found me on Instagram and added me. I was shocked that she found my profile considering I have never told her my last name.

After I accepted her invitation to add me, I noticed that she had sent me a DM as well. She basically mentioned how she was happy to find me and wanted to add me on Instagram. She mentioned in her message that, “We should hang out sometime! :)”, along with asking me how I’m doing. It seemed odd since I thought she was engaged, but when I was going through her profile, I didn’t really see any photos with her fiancé, apart from some old “BF photos(?)” from a couple of years back. Should I take this as an opportunity to hang out with her and escalate? Or, is this her asking me to hang out as a friend? Either way, if I do hang out with her, I would escalate immediately.
