What career path to choose?

Psychology is a very female degree - it’s not a career-builder. It’s really interesting and a vital tool, but get a degree in something more employable. You can always read psychology on the side - Influence: The Power of Persuasion was a great read. How do you feel about economics or business?

I’ve always been raised to really value education and it’s served me well, but that also means I’m kind of prejudiced against your barbershop aspirations.

Fucking neither.

Psychology - pseudoscience, the most subjective course where no one can be wrong.There are no jobs for people with specifically bachelors in psychology. Que the one retard with the "what about psychologists" quip. That takes far more than a bachelor and if fallen through results in the most useless degree known to man next to eboniks.

Barber - Theres nothing inherently wrong with barbers. We need them. I have nothing bad to say about them. You'll make less than 40k a year most likely. You'll be stuck a barber for life. God forbid you hate it. If you ever decide to change careers you'll be right back at square one (minus the fact that older individuals have debts, families, and are slower learners) and that experience will give nil help. Why strive for that?

IMO psychology is best used as a tool to enhance your career rather than using it as an actual career itself. A lot of high level business execs I’ve met in college seem to always know a lot of psychology

go into stem. If you go into business don't get a degree for it.

You can either be the dog that is led on a leash, or the dog that is free to use its own instincts to choose their own path. The first option there is guaranteed security, but not guaranteed happiness. The second option securiy is not guaranteed, but happiness is only a bum sniff away.
