I've lacked that father figure to teach the tricks of the trade, and had an empath mother who pretty much taught me my value system but it's like okay.. here I am as an authentic and genuinely empathetic person, but now I have to claw my way out of this rut of being naive. I spent literally 2-3 years trying shit out, taking risks, going the extreme right of masculinity to try and find a socially calibrated way of living a masculine and authentic life, and I've read NMMG, 48 Laws, Models and all those other books which helped with assertiveness, boundaries, calling people out on bs, being okay with being sexual etc. without overcompensating.

Here's where I'm at though. In the process of developing my shit, I've found that I over-reveal my secrets to my other authentic REALLY close male friends. Like 1-2 at most where this has happened. Could this pose any dangers and should I be more cautious in what I reveal (ex. only reveal vulnerabilities I've worked on, and then tackle all the other shit on my own or through a mentor/therapist)? Apparently it's naive to give out information like that, no matter who the person is, but I'd like outside perspectives.
