What is the value of learning to code?

6 weeks ago I had zero coding skills other than a Turbo Pascal class I took in high school in 1990.

6 weeks ago, I posted an idea to a subreddit and people seemed to like it. So I bought a book on teaching myself PHP in 30 days, and MySQL in 30 days, and Javascript in 30 days and started the website.

Now 6 weeks later, the website is fully functional, AND I have it monetized, AND it's earning a small weekly profit.

If I would have paid someone to develop it, it would have cost me probably $10,000 -- with no hope of reward.

I learned it because I had to learn it for my masters. I don't regret it though, technology is the future and they should be teaching code in grade schools.

the value is learning how our economy actually works and how machines actually work. This lets you decode where fraud is and exploits that give you extra advantage.

I learned it all on my own in the early 90's and it's helped me decipher exploits, tricks and even patterns in regular human thinking outside of any machine.

There's no value, OP. Totally no value. Don't worry about it. You're better off being a plumber or a janitor.
