I don't see how an N Count can tell you anything about a person, other than their past.

People change, and they grow. I don't care who someone was in the past, I care about who they are now, because that's the person I'm in a relationship with.

There are things that I'm not proud of, that if I looked back to, I would cringe. I wouldn't do those same things now. I should be able to afford the same benefit of the doubt to the person I'm planning on dating.

Why has this question come up so often lately? I think the fact that you guys care this much about N-count proves you haven’t fully internalized TRP.

Does it matter? I suppose to a degree. But I see it more as:

A high N-count is correlated with and reflects behaviors that are red flags.

Rather than

A high N-count is a red flag in itself.

I’ve said it once I’ll say it a hundred more times: my preferred approach is to assume every woman I meet has an N-count of 100. Thus, I never ask and it is up to her to prove me wrong if she wants to qualify herself as deserving of my commitment.
