I am a guy in my late 20s / early 30s who never held employment before. I always had ways to make enough money to live a comfortable life independently. However, the stress of making ends meet started getting to me and I got a good job offer for part-time work that allows me to keep my lifestyle, stress free, while also keeping enough free time to dedicate to my other ambitions.

The problem is that the company boss has (somewhat) recognized my value compared to other employees in the same company, so he really wants me to start working full time. The main reason why I accepted the offer was that it was part time. I started considering to work full time, because it's a great environment and it could help me in my career as independent entrepreneur in the future. However, I would require a much higher hourly rate than I am currently getting (double) in order to stay on track for my goals.

I am quite sure that there is zero chance that he simply agrees to quadruple my salary. Only around the top third of people in my line of work get that amount of money, and they have years of experience as employee. Additionally, salary is often based on seniority and your position in the managerial hierarchy, rather than on performance and real output.

I already asked him if he thinks that a person that brings twice the performance to the table should earn twice the salary, or even one and a half times. He said no, I should stop comparing to other people. I think that's bullshit. I know for a fact that I'm easily worth ten times what his worst employee is, and even the best competition probably doesn't perform as well in a week of full time work as I do in a week of part time work.

My 3-5 year plan involves being at a certain point financially that I can only get to if I earn what I'm asking for after a maximum of 3 years of a smaller, growing salary. I can prove what I'm saying easily, with numbers and statistics, but he already indicated that comparisons won't matter. How should I go around negotiating? Should I be willing to settle for less for some of years? In how far should I reveal my intentions and my plans? Where does the line lie between confidence/boldness and stupidity/arrogance?
