Alright so I've gotten to the point where I've more absorbed a lot of RP rather than memorized it and I feel like I didn't understand it at all until that point... Like I was just spouting off what I thought would be a "RP" reaction or "what would RP do"... and looking back it was a necessary step but kind of embarrassing how I still was so focused on controlling a situation with it or making a girl behave in a certain way (opposite of outcome independence)...

Anyway, here is the issue at hand for me:

Going to mother's day dinner... got ready and gave GF a time of when we were leaving the house as to not be late... a few minutes before said time I go to the garage and turn on the car. She gets in the car (after a couple minutes of me waiting but still a couple minutes before the time I stated we need to leave) and says something like "oh I thought you were coming back in the house" (whatever I don't really respond)

On the way she looks like she is about to cry... now I can't think of anything I've done to get this kind of reaction and I just kind of ignore it but curiosity gets the best of me and I ask her what's up. Now it was kind of annoying that right before a dinner with family she was getting dramatic about who knows what and BP me would have prodded trying to "figure it out" or "put it behind us" or whatever the fuck before we got to dinner thinking it would ruin the dinner and if she wasn't responsive to that idea I would have probably gotten pissed off at her and told her that she was being a bitch for ruining a nice occasion (would have been true too and day would have been somewhat ruined but mostly due to the fighting that came post "what's wrong?").

Of course her response to what's wrong is "nothing, I'm fine." (sigh) And all I respond with is a calm "I don't really believe that." She goes on to mention that "it's nothing" and "you'll say i'm being stupid" etc. I basically just keep on acting completely normal and the most I probably responded to that is just that if she didn't want to talk about it fine by me. It's not my job to fix her emotions and if she thinks I would have thought it was stupid there is a decent chance that's true so my day is nothing but better by not bringing it up.

Now this is probably BP me coming out or something but I'm curious as to what it was that had her looking so sad... after dinner the night went on just fine. I'm assuming this was just a momentary emotion she was having and just needed me to be me rather than to actually have a conversation about it.

I guess my questions are:

Should I have even brought it up when I noticed she was upset looking? I did it as if it was just normal conversation... but should I just have ignored the tears in her eyes? I'm a bit torn on that. And maybe either way is really as good as the other, I'm sure I'll catch some opinions on that here though. Also, I didn't really feel like digging into anything, I offered her a shot at saying what was on her mind and she declined so I think going on as if it had never even been brought up is best for my day and so assuming best for the situation... Should I ever bring it up again? Assuming no and to just continue acting like the conversation never happened since clearly it was a minute overflow of female emotion but I feel like I have some male instinct to not ever leave a rock unturned and the desire to "know" what it was... even when I'm sure the answer is something small and pointless.

Any comments / discussion on similar experiences greatly appreciated. I think there is a lot of shit in this forum (trolls and people angry / overboard on what they define as "alpha") but seriously this whole forum is a great resource.
