I do not like the term "alpha". I think a lot of guys on here misinterpret AMOG as "alpha".

You know, the typical beat your chest, muscles puffed out, overly hostile / in your face, everything must be done as I say kind of thing.

They become obsessed with everything being "alpha", which is not always a good thing. Rather than trying to encorporate the positive "alpha" traits like aloofness and the IDGAF attitude into their personality.

The alpha / beta ideologies, however, are quite easy to get across to a newer reader. That is probably why they are so popular.

"Alpha", is a measurement of how dominant a trait/traits are on a spectrum.

" beta ", is a measure of how provisional/supplicating a trait/traits are on a spectrum.

Alpha male " of group " is the male in the group with the most dominant set.

Beta males "of group" are the ones with less dominant set than the alpha. -notice this means as whole sets of traits go, switching groups alone can turn someone from alpha to beta depending on demanded dominance.

So when we say alpha, we're saying "more dominant than supplicative on the scale". Usually the further to the alpha side a trait is, the higher smv can correlate. However everything at one side of the extreme usually lands you in prison or dissociated from society. Were not actually saying you need to be three alpha male of every group, that's nearly impossible.

Tldr, most times on the internet people are quick, vague and ambiguous, and it's a good enough representation to get general messages across. Don't let it bug you bro.

Women have dual sexual strategy - they want commitment from men with resources (beta) and sex with strong, dominant men (alpha).

You might have a high SMV due to beta qualities (say you're wealthy) and women will be open to dating you, but she is mainly interested in his commitment and resources amd whatever sex he gets is only to secure his commitment. He will often have to prove his commitment first, and once his commitment is secured sex will dwindle down.

Alphas have it very differently. Women want sex from them so alphas experience women who are horny, kinky and DTF for no effort from him. She might still try to secure commitment from him, but unlike with the beta she is willing to fuck the alpha without commitment.

Because we as men are primarily interested in sex, alpha game is MUCH more rewarding. Alpha is what makes girls horny so that must always be the focus and base of your sexual strategy. Adding some "good beta" like wealth can increase your SMV and be a benefit, but you can't rely on beta qualities alone if you want easy, fun sex.

Because you can have high SMV and be beta, while you cannot be alpha with low SMV.

I know plenty of guys that are high SMV, good looks, good physique, good game and social skills, but all of them ended up either marrying single moms turning into betacucks, or getting divorce raped, or getting oneitis and losing every single piece of SMV they had.

There are two types of alpha. The leader of men and the leader of women, and the two are not the same thing. High SMV makes you a leader of women but not necessarily a leader of men. Honour, talent and intelligence make you a leader of me but not necessarily a leader of women. There is some overlap but they are not the same thing.

When people talk about alpha fucks, beta bucks - they are referring to a leader of women alpha and a low SMV beta.

The reason alpha and beta are used is because it's a lot less wordy than high/low SMV person.

The fixation on alpha is likely to do with the fact that most men strive to be alpha in both senses of the word - a leader of men and a leader of women.
