Today I was in a work group with this chick named Sandy. Sandy is a stereotypical dumb blonde, talks about how dumb she is. We start talking about what we should do for the the project and she brings up how she has some eye disorder that makes it difficult for her to read and that it is like a workout for her eyes. I turn to my friend Bill sitting next to me and say "she is making those eye GAINZ." Sandy chuckles and starts saying how it makes her bad at reading and dumb and say to her "no wonder you got such a bad grade on the essay." The week prior, our instructor returned our essays and the average was in the low 70's. Everyone got a bad grade. She then says back at me "why do you hate me, Adam?"

This is just one instance of a girl saying this to me. It happens a lot with other dumb girls that I mostly tease and disregard what they say. Most of what they say is them complaining and dumb shit. This one chick was talking about how she had practice outdoors the day before in 40 degree weather and was complaining about how she was cold. I said "Oh no, are your cute little fingers gonna freeze off." She later said something along the lines of "You're such an asshole," and walked off. She still follows me around and talks to me.

I am 18, senior year in high school. I get phrases like this a lot and don't know how to respond. Is there something wrong with what I am saying? Is it an age thing? Am I just missing something?
