First impressions are everything. You really have no choice but to leave them behind and find new friends that actually enhance your life. You don't necessarily have to cut them off, but keep in mind they will never be as good as friends as ones who actually respect you. I'm strongly considering cutting off my best friend from high school because of his impression of me, and because hanging out with him is such a waste of time because he holds me back.

People act based on the present version of you. Every one has bad and good days in terms of frames. If you were a drug addict and became a charismatic millionaire. You really think people act the same as if you were still a drug addict?

I think the problem is more that this group reminds you of your previous beta frame, therefore you still act like it.
