I do a lot of disqualifications because it helps me screen and display high value. Rephrase it to be a disqualifier instead.

One I use all the time is: “What’s the worse thing you’ve done. If you say you once turned in an assignment late we’re not gonna get along ;)”

For your message it may look something like this: “Hopefully that isn’t your only joke. If you’re not this witty in person we’re not gonna get along ;)”
