My apologies for the long post, but I wanted to give the full context. Earlier tonight I felt great, more alpha than I have in a long time. Only hours later, I feel absolutely humiliated and at the end of my rope. All it took was less than five minutes of what has officially become my worst date ever. Of course, I met her through Tinder.

Some background: a few months ago I matched with this Asian HB7 on Tinder, who works in finance and/or law. We talked for a bit and I asked her out, but she said something like she didn't know me well enough. Trying to be funny, I responded in a joking manner that if it made her feel any better I could offer her my resume, full psychological profile, detailed medical files, etc. She unmatched me, and all I could think was that this girl had no sense of humour.

Yesterday I got a new Tinder match and it turned out to be the same girl. I messaged her about the U.S. election results and we talked politics for a bit before setting up a date. She rejected my original suggestion for a location by saying "Um, that's kinda far" without offering an alternative, so already I could tell this was going to be your typical Tinder bitch too lazy to make any effort, but whatever. I suggested a place closer to where she lived and we agreed to meet up tonight.

Before the date, I trimmed my beard and wore a snazzy new shirt that has worked well on recent dates. I had worked out yesterday and was still feeling great. On my way there, I felt confident, outcome-independent (not really caring what happened), and just basically more "alpha" than ever. I considered telling my date that we had matched before, but decided I would only do that after we had sex (trying to get into the right mindset for the evening).

When my date arrived at the bar, I was reading a newspaper and enjoying a pint. I smile, say hi and that I was just reading about the U.S. election. She's really quiet and the whole thing is just very awkward. I commented on the fact that we have another dead celebrity in the news, Leonard Cohen. She's still quiet and looking at the drink menu. I ask if everything is OK. She says that it's because of our current situation. Quizzically, I ask her what the problem was. She indicates that it's me.

When I ask what in particular is wrong, she just says, "First impressions" and that I'm not what she expected, that all she really knows about me is my photos on Tinder. I'm about to ask further, but then say that maybe I don't want to know exactly what she means. She suggests she would feel bad leaving me to have a beer myself. I brush her off and say, "Don't worry about me, I'm perfectly happy drinking a beer and reading my newspaper." She says she's going to leave, I brusquely say, "Yeah, you do that" and go back to reading my paper. She leaves the bar without another word.

After that, however, I couldn't even concentrate on anything else. Nursing my pint, I tried to set up a date with another Tinder match, who of course said she couldn't make it out tonight. Despite the fact that I've become more numb to the pratfalls of dating through much hard experience and shitty female behaviour, this was a new low. I wondered if I should have told her off in a more direct way for how rude she was being and that I was happier not having to interact with such an evidently terrible person, but I was kind of shocked in the moment and also wanted to give the impression that I was too cool to care, rather than lash out in anger like a beta. Eventually I thought about messaging her back on Tinder (didn't get her number, which of course I now regret) and calling her out for being rude and wasting my time, but of course by that point she had already unmatched me.

Some of you might say she just thought I was ugly. Who knows, maybe. I'm 30, about average height and average in terms of looks (women I've dated have said I'm good-looking, but of course they would). At the same time, I have a full head of hair, I'm in very good shape due to hitting the gym regularly for a couple years now, and I'm also quite smart and well-spoken, with multiple people in the past having told me I'm very charismatic. For what its worth, this girl was a couple years younger than me.

Even though I've had bad dates before, this was just the absolute worst thing that could have happened to me, because I've been in a dry spell that has lasted a long time now. Let me explain. Throughout 2015 and for the first half of 2016, I was doing alright for myself, generally had 2-3 plates at any one time (though they were generally "cute" rather than hot and I really wanted to get hotter women). But at some point early in the summer, all of a sudden I wasn't able to escalate to sex with any new girls. Instead, I would go out on one or two dates, we would kiss, and then she would usually end up ghosting.

My multiple plates dwindled to one, whom I actually stopped seeing in the spring after I told her I couldn't promise to be monogamous. About a month later we got back together because I didn't want to be alone on my birthday. For the next few months she and I kept fucking, and I would go on dates but never actually had sex with anything else (closest I got was sucking some girl's tits that I brought back to my place on our first date). But the whole time I was frustrated that I couldn't seem to bang anyone else. The last time I had sex was a month ago, and now my one remaining plate and I have officially parted ways, after she got angry over the fact that she thought I viewed her as nothing but a fuck buddy.

Having lurked on The Red Pill subreddit for quite some time, I know the advice of most on here will be to lift, focus on my mission (for me, my work as a writer), and keep approaching new girls. But I'm having some serious discouragement here. Putting aside my former main plate, I haven't had sex with a new girl in about 5-6 months now, just kissed or made out. And even though women should never the main focus of one's life, I'm just getting pissed off at the fact that none of my efforts are paying off at all. My N-count is better than average; I've had sex with dozens of girls in my life. But I don't know what's happening right now.

It's true that most of my dates come from Tinder, and maybe that's the main problem. I think there's been a definite decline in Tinder's usefulness. My photos are OK - could be better - and I get several matches a week. I'd say about half of them reply, and a smaller number lead to actual dates. But then we'll go out one or two times, make out, then they'll usually ghost (there was one case of a girl who asked me out and who I could have had sex with, but I found her physically unattractive). I've thought over and over about what I might be doing wrong and I really don't know what it could be.

There is one additional factor that might be relevant: I live in Toronto, which has been called the worst city for single men in North America. I can certainly see how that might be the case. Day game is pretty rare for me because the vast majority of young women in this city walk around with headphones on staring at their phones with the ubiquitous resting bitch face, sending out that unmistakable vibe of "leave me the fuck alone".

Night game is also pretty lame (or maybe just my night game, you tell me). Whether I'm with friends or going out solo, it seems like most people want to stick to their own social groups and aren't interested in meeting anyone new. It's all very clique-y. The admittedly few times I try to dance with girls at clubs, I usually get the cold shoulder.

I did have a couple of one-night stands last year with girls I met in bars, but unfortunately it seems like I just got lucky. The first time I was hitting on the friend of a girl who it turned out went to the same university residence as me several years ago. The second time, there was this cute HB7 alone at a bar who had just finished work and was giving me the eye as soon as I walked in; we went home and fucked and afterwards she said she wanted to get laid and decided to go for the best-looking guy in the bar, who by fortunate coincidence happened to be me. But since the latter lay last fall, I've had no luck at all with night game. In general, I can approach and open pretty well, but seem to have issues after that because they're usually with friends; I need to work on escalating and isolating.

I just feel like I need some words of wisdom from other men who are unapologetically trying to improve their sex lives, because I feel like I've come to an impasse. Most of my friends are women, political activists, and/or are in relationships, so I don't have many people I can turn too to talk about this stuff. Just wanted to see if anyone had suggestions for getting over this dry spell. I feel like Sisyphus, pushing the boulder up the hill over and over, yet getting nowhere.
