I went to a club last year. I had a table with some strangers including my friend group. I ended up talking to a girl. We hit it off. A couple of hours later a different friend group of mine, came to our table. Some of them tried hard to get that girl offering her drinks, teasing her and all. At that point I just stepped back and watch them, I didn't want to compete for that girl with them. She was also enjoying free drinks. What is the trp perspective on this issue?

Second scenario

Last year I asked this girl to come to a welcome party with me which was prepared for exchange students, which she accepted. At the party a friend of mine got drunk, besides, he didn't know what was going on between me and the girl. He tried to hit on the girl and I thought to myself he was drunk and she was definitely bothered by him but instead,after he left us, she said " he is fun". I was completely bothered and didn't know what to do. She wasn't avoiding interaction with him. Later she went to dance and I went there too and that guy had gone to her already. So I just grabbed her hand pulled it towards me. She said "thank you" but I think she said it because I cared about her not because she was annoyed and unable to run away.

What should I have done instead? Would she have to show if she was bothered? Or Would it show that I am investing in her and getting jealous of?
