No college degree helps you to become an entrepreneur. That being said having a STEM degree can open many doors for you, maybe start your work experience in a reputable industry.

With the contact you make in it you can start your own venture. But if you think getting an MBA automatically enables you to be a businessman you're misinformed.

Where are you at right now? You should be working in industry for years post-ug/masters before going for mba and should be getting it sponsored by a company. for entrepreneurship mba is more or less useless, for higher salaries in corporations, mba is generally worth it

If you don't have any groundwork laid on your own business, make yourself very valuable at a mid - large sized company and see if they'll foot the bill for your MBA. It's less common than it used to be, but some companies will still pay for it if you're very valuable. The caveat is it usually means entering into a contract where you have to work for them for a given number of years and are liable to pay back a prorated amount of the tuition if you leave the company early.

Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. Having the work experience will at least give you something to fall back on if things go south.

the only overlap between successful entrepreneurs is that they tend to all have some innate drive to be succeed that most people just don't have. outside of that, there's nothing you can learn in school that's necessarily going to help. anything you spend 4 years learning in school, i can outsource in 48 hours.

Considering your post I would recommend you don’t pursue an MBA and do pursue your dream if entrepreneurship.

Don’t laugh, I’m serious:

If you love business and what to entrepreneur, consider spending 1/3 of the time and 1/10 of the cost and going to a trade school.

I know, I know...

But seriously. You don’t even have to be good at it, but you have to know enough that you’re at or near your EEs skill level.

Learn the trade. Take the money you saved from skipping the MBA and open a business. Hire a good, skilled tradesman or two. Get business. Hire more. Run your damn business. Make it an empire.

Local guy I know became a plumber. Started a business. Hired some plumbers. Ran his business. Sold it and now has more passive income yearly than most people make in their entire working career. Retired at 48.

Do you want to be rich or have people a cocktail parties fawn over your title of VP of Really Important Shit?

An mba is more of a a qualification than an education. Only do it if you’re going for a job that requires it or if your job will sponsor you and promote you
