Literally just had a conversation with one of my plates about 'being a dick' and judging from your question you are either new to the subreddit or have yet to conduct the necessary research. Being labeled a dick (and the like) is a compliment and while hard to understand as such initially, will be easy to see later on and shall reinforce the protocol in general.

I know exactly what you're talking about and I have come to one conclusion; (male and female)

You're a dick for focusing on your own life and not other people's petty bullshit. Giving off the energy "to be frank I don't give a shit if you succeed" really makes (insecure) people uncomfortable (there are for more insecure than confidential people), because if they fall short you're not going to hold their hand. And we wear this "vibe".

To illustrate; I've encountered people that I thought "was kind of a dick". Then thought about it later and realized, "No he wasn't a dick, he has no reason to give a shit about me or what I'm doing because he's focused on HIS life."

No matter what way you slice it, some people are going to think you're some level of a "dick" simply because your main focus is on you.

With that being said, girls saying you're a "dick" is a GOOD thing. It means you're making them feel described as above; vulnerable.

To your comment about LTRs: They're insecure and cannot handle such vulnerability.

Either have a stoic mindset or you'll need to re-evaluate how you come across to other people.

plates will let you keep being a dick because they are using them just like they are using you. LTRs being a dick can mean you are too unstable for her to want to commit and/or are literally a dick.
