Was this a good move?

Pulled this off with complete confidence, and due to context (takes too long to explain, but trust me) she knows I'm not BSing just to get pussy. I was genuinely sharing my dreams with her.

How the hell was I supposed to answer this question?

Most challenging moment of the night happened on the walk from my car to her dorm after we got back to campus. She asks "Are you interested in a relationship or is this just a party thing?" Caught me off guard. I knew I had to stay alpha but I don't lie to women. The honest answer would have been "I kinda like you so I'm down to get to know you more and see if a relationship would work between us but right now I'm just down for a one-nighter." Anyway, I gave her the best answer I could: "What if I haven't decided yet?" Turns out this was a good move because she then told me that she is going through some emotionally stressful times and isn't able to be in a relationship with anyone. That's fine with me!

Was this LMR and thus fixable? If so, how should I have gone about the situation?
