Hey Seddit, Before I start, just want to say thanks to the awesome community here and at /r/FAImprovement. These 2 communities constantly remind me why Reddit is the best source of information and entertainment on the net.
So with that said, I just want to add my 2 cents about what I've learned on relationships, women, attraction, etc. this last year. For reference I'm in my mid 30's and got divorced last year after a 20 year relationship. I'm really learning all this from scratch and providing my insight from a slightly different perspective then most of you are used to seeing here.

  1. Pareto's 80/20 law applies. In my case, it was attractiveness. As soon as I started spending a little extra time on my wardrobe, grooming, and looks, I started noticing women smiling at me more and noticing me. Instant confidence boost with rather minimal effort.

  2. Rating systems are stupid. Everyone has something to offer, including yourself. I don't rate women or think of them in any kind of hotness context because the second that happens your looking up or down at them.

  3. A women's relationship with her cat can be beneficial in determining if she's girlfriend material. Gross generalization here, but I've noticed that women who have abusive/nasty cats also have (or had) codependency issues. Another generalization is that all single 30-something women have cats? WTF is up with this?

  4. Have an abundance mentality, but never take an opportunity for granted. Great youtube video explaining exactly what this means. Enjoy every second of life, but don't let scarcity scare you into lessening your expectations.

  5. Keep a Good Attitude I work really hard to keep positive, especially when I'm going out. Sometimes things go well, sometimes they don't. In the grand scheme of things, these are all kinda like first world problems.

  6. Master your home field, but don't let it be your weakness. My home field is online, and all of the easy to reach quality women are there. However, I would estimate that maybe half of the single women in my area don't use it all, or not regularly. This means that unless I have a good social approach game, I'm losing out on half of the market of cafe's, libraries, nice bars, social groups, etc.

  7. Approach dating like an advertising executive. Without being overly obvious, I try to find out the answers to a few survey questions like 'what attracted you to me', 'what do you like about me', 'what did you think about my online profile'. It's not that I particularly give too many fucks about their answer, but it's very beneficial to understand where your strengths and weaknesses are.
