I have this pretty common habit. I bite my fingernails a lot. I've been doing this ever since I was a little kid and I am just now attempting to "Cure" myself.

This week has been a really stressful week. I have to present a 12 minute speech tomorrow for my College public speaking class, but I am not nervous. When trying to diagnosis why, I figured it out. When I get nervous, I bite my nails. Since I am not biting my nails, I removed that which cues anxiety. Hence, no nail biting, no anxiety.

  1. Think about what habits you have and the things you may do when nervious.

  2. Now remove that habit from your life.

  3. ???

  4. Profit

It is amazing to think how actions can cue emotions and reactions like this. What if... What if I can somehow turn biting my nails into a confidence boaster...?
