Advice for a guy who is starting cold approach.

My advice is to learn to enjoy being single and alone. Approaching a woman will not solve any of your self esteem, anxiety or depression issues. It won't make you more respected, liked, admired, better at your job. It won't make your dick bigger, etc. Women are not magic. They are super enjoyable, smell good and there are many good times to be had with them, but don't put them on some pedestal expecting that getting dates and sex will transform you from a depressed, low self esteem nobody to the king of the world.

The other piece of advice I will give you is this. The second you approach a woman because you want something from her, you have failed. She will sense the neediness and objectification in how your approach her and she may be nice and give you a number and maybe even give you a chance by going out with you, but you will never get her. There is a reason all these self proclaimed pick up gurus talk about numbers game and approaching hundreds of women a night. If they had a fraction of the success they claim they have, they would have too many women to deal with and sleep with and won't have time or energy to go out and approach hundreds of women. Don't buy into the hype. The best way to approach a woman is from the frame of "I'm super happy with my life, I don't need anything, but hey this chick kind of looks interesting and unique and now I'm curious what she's all about. I will go inquire and find out if she might be able to offer me some improvement/something additional to the awesome lifestyle I already I'm too busy living".

You should make friends instead of cold approaching so you actually have a fulfilling life alongside attempting to date.
