Let me tell you how I fucked up dating that really nice girl and what I learned from it.

Me (24, 10 months out of longterm relationship >4 years, no Game and new to seddit) met this really nice girl. Beautiful, intelligent and we share a lot of interest. Met like a year ago through work, but had a great talk in December at a party I organised. Talked to her for > two hours until she had to leave.

When we met the next time ~1 month later she basically told me nice to see you again and maybe we could go for a Beer sometime (yes stupid me didn't call her before). So we did and we had an awesome 4 hour talk. Sat at the bar of a really nice pub which allowed me to touch her easily and get some kind of Game started. At that point everything went smooth and I thought well why not ask her to go to the cinema. So we went, saw an amazingly funny movie and had a nice talk before and afterwards.

Problem was I didn't know the place at all so we sat in some kind of sports bar with few people in the bar on a big table while a football (the real deal) match playing in the background. Basically something I would do with a buddy. In retrospect I could smack myself over the head for choosing it.

This not just led to her losing interest, but also me seeing her totally different throughout the evening. When you can be close to somebody you simply get more attracted and we both missed out on that.

So to recap here is what I learned:

  • Always check the environment where you meet before and always have at least one backup location
  • Pick a bar that is moderately full. Too empty is creepy and too full is loud and annoying
  • Take the smallest table there is or sit at the bar (if you sit). Sitting at a big table makes it seem unnatural to touch her
