Close to 4 months ago a girl started following me on Instagram with close to no overlapping followers and followees. I'm very selective about who I accept and follow and judging by her profile she is too. So I assumed something about me must have caught her attention. Anyway, we started following each other. She seemed like a cute and simple girl. I liked one of her stories and I slid into her DMs, trying to get to know her and trying to set up a date (which looking back now seems very rushed). The convo wasn't very smooth. She seemed avoidant of my advances and told me she wasn't in the country atm (she's an immigrant, long trips to the country of origin are normal). I asked her when she would be back (maybe I shouldn't have), and she said until December. Needless to say, I assumed she was capping and trying to reject me without saying no. This made me feel pretty bad. Also I stopped seeing her stories so I assumed she blocked me.

I completely forgot about this girl until a few days ago (in December nonetheless), when I see the first story from her in months, it's was black background with "18+" written in white (I assume this means she has turned 18?). Soon after she uploaded stuff explicitly showing that she was in town (which she never did before, even before I spoke to her). I'm 20. I know zoomers are very weird with age gaps so I hope I don't get flamed for this, but I don't think this is an issue.

The way I see it there's 2 possibilities: 1. I'm a paranoid overthinker and she means nothing by this. She either wasn't posting any stories or hid them until December to keep her excuse believable.

  1. She's doing it on purpose. She's signaling to me that she's available and wants me to make another move. She just wanted to wait until she was an adult (maybe?).

This is the cringiest post I've ever made but my mind is glitching about what to do, because I think she's really cute.
