Off the top of my head: Look them in the eyes with a smile, say something rather than just listening, mock/tease them when they order a mix drink (red vodka with fanta? I didn't know this was a kids party).

When you look around and you catch one looking at you. Smile, look in the eyes until they look away.

A friend of mine (I wasn't working that evening) was once flirting with a girl for most of the evening. At a certain moment when she ordered drinks again he grabbed a pen and wrote the first two digits (06 where I live, the standard two digits for mobile phones) on his arm and gave her the pen. Few seconds they looked each other in the eye and she wrote her number on his arm. Went on a few dates, had sex, end of story.

One of my friends calls the ladies "love" or some other affectionate name. He also will comp them a drink or two with red bull to keep them awake and energetic. Works quite well for him.

I recently just moved home from a college town where I bartended/managed one of the bars. Getting a girl's attention was the easiest thing to do obviously because you're the one with the ability to give them what they want: a drink. It doesn't matter if its non-alcoholic; at some point they're going to come up to the bar and you're going to interact with them. If they order a super girly drink, play with them a bit and give them a hard time. "Wow! You're really going hard tonight." And follow that with a smile. Pour up a shot for the two of you and toast to them in an endearing way. "Here's to me. For finally getting the balls to talk to the prettiest girl in the bar." Just be confident. That's what bartending in a college town is all about. Good luck.

Project your intentions through your body language. This includes eye contact, body posture and all the shit from inner game. Also be confident about your sexuality.

Don't ignore people. If you're busy and can't get to them in a 30 seconds, acknowledge their presence so they see you're trying.
