So I've approached for a first time a complete stranger after getting too fed up myself for failing to do so for like 3 months or so.

So she was sitting on a bench listening to her music, I walked up to her and sat next to her and opened with indirect line "Have I seen you anywhere before", she obviously said no, I asked if she went to [MY] high school because she looks Russian. She indeed was Russian but she wasnt from my highschool. We started talking about projects then music, friends, childhood, fuck what didn't we talk about.

One mistake I did was I didn't state my true purpose that when I approached her because she was cute etc. Another mistake I made was that we spent about 2 hours (probably more) talking and she was free and I didnt lead it anywhere like going to starbucks or outside...

We both had to go to class at the same time, she gave me her number. We hugged and I texted her later that night. She replied back, even with a smiley face. So I was like damn my first approach went much better than expected. Well I replied after that something like "did you do something interesting?" and she didn't reply after that. I wasn't too disappointed but still it curbed my motivation.

Anyways Id like some criticism. I already noticed some. Anything else I could be doing. Note: Im not looking for hookups so Im looking for a girlfriend and even if those girls want to be friends idc. So im not that worried about physical escalation since i dont care about getting laid. I started doing this to better my social skills, be a positive guy and find a girlfriend
