I knew a guy who could mistify everyone at the pub with his magic tricks. I jokingly said 'you must get laid so much'.

He said no, they watch it, but at some point the novelty wears off and you're stuck with your (lack of) game.

That seems like more work than just talking.

If you can do a trick that requires no intro, maybe.

Most magic tricks require attention and or setup. This doesn't work if you haven't started talking to them.

If you have to wave to get their attention, then start doing a trick, it's gonna be kind of pathetic.

If you walk up and pull a rabbit out of a hat, and hand it to her, it might work.

Basically something that is obvious, and requires her to respond.

I think magic works better after a conversation has started.
