It's labor day weekend and I'm pretty alone. My friends are all out of town. To be honest I'm bored, but I don't want to fix that with lonely hobbies, I want to fix it with social interaction.

I read often that it is crucial for someone to "be the fun." A person who asks others where things are happening is usually met with ill response, as this person isn't a creator of fun.

How do I do this? How do I create fun social situations? I can think of a few ways (parties, group dates, meetups, etc.), but I don't think I have the resources--be it cash, or social connections--for much. In addition, I am not able to drink in the states. (18).
