I've had good success in my journey of becoming a social person. I am now better than average at being social and knowing how to connect with people, and have learned a lot about attracting women. I have not, however, achieved everything I would like to achieve. I think that after a year and a bit of work and growth, I've finally realized what is holding me back most: Me.
When I have a string of successes with women, the fire is fueled, and I feel like I want to talk with every woman I see and exchange information with her and find out everything there is to know (people are fucking interesting). But then there is this voice inside my head that goes "That is weird that you talk to strangers all the time." And I agree with it, and slow down. And the quality of my life degrades. Until I start back up again!
In a past relationship, before my journey of bettering myself, I had a terrible habit of doing everything available in my power to ensure that my girlfriend would experience NO pain or negative emotions whatsoever. And I did it pretty well, retaining a dominant frame for most of the relationship. However, sacrificing yourself THAT MUCH for someone else is bad for her, and even worse for you. But it is a habit, and there are strong emotions attached to those situations. I ran into a situation today where a girl (whom I am currently involved with) messaged me on Facebook chat, but my phone signed me in and I had no idea I was on, and obviously she got no response from me for her enthusiastic greeting. I felt terrible because of the negative feelings she may or may not have felt from me not responding. She'll live! I didn't do anything purposefully, yet I beat myself up.
I could go on and list other things such as "Oh, I won't approach her, she's taller than me and won't be attracted to someone shorter," or "This girl would never go for a low commitment relationship," but I won't go into detail. My point is this: My biggest obstacle is my own limiting beliefs. I believe that the majority of my remaining growth in this journey will be to rewrite all of the limiting beliefs that are robbing me of happiness and success that I could have right now.
From now on, when I find myself thinking these negative things, I will reframe them and become a better and stronger self!
