In fact, maybe you're putting too much out there. You need to leave them interested when you meet them. So perhaps you should try a little less pulling on your end, and ease up, so they can pull a bit. If they do, then they're interested, if not, then either try again or just accept it's not meant to be.

This nice guy vs asshole thing is completely irrelevant. If a girl is not interested she isn't physically attracted to you. Regardless of whether you are nice or not they need to be physically attracted to you.

Build a connection with her. Find out what she's interested in and dive into it.
Once you've created a connection. "Hey let's talk more about this. Let's meet for coffee on Monday."
Take her number for logistic reasons.
