I've seen this in a surprising number of guys I've worked with and they were ALL unaware of it. Thought I'd share . . .

When some dudes go into "pickup mode" their facial muscles shift. Whereas they have relaxed, soft, yet consistent eye contact in regular conversation, they go bug eyed when in "pickup mode." Their eyes get big and strain at the corners. Their smile seems painted on. They look like the crazy girlfriend meme or a clown from your nightmares.

So please take 1 minute to record yourself delivering an opener on your phone and then watch it. You may be shocked by how rape-y you come across. Then take sometime to work it out in front of the mirror. Narrow your eyes, soften your focus, smile often, but not the entire time.
