Ok, before you downvote me into oblivion, hear me out. I've read the sidebar, this is not a case of oneitis, don't think I'm friendzoned yet, and I know seddit is not for winning a particular girl. That being said:

There is a girl that I was friends with and had really good chemistry with a while back, but we were both in relationships at the time and she eventually moved to the midwest. She is coming back to visit nyc for the first time since we've both been single, and I definitely wouldn't mind trying to get something going with her.

The question is, assuming I haven't already been friendzoned, is there anything you would do differently than normal since we've been really, really good friends for nearly 2 years, just now we're both single.

TL;DR: Girl I could have had something with a while back except we were both in relationships... we're not anymore. How to approach?

Lack of details. Is she coming alone? with friends? how many of those are guys?

The simple way to go about it is to try and take her out on a date, obviously. Make it unclear to her if it's a date or just catching up for time apart, and make little jokes about it. Keep in mind that your "date" is about bringing her into your world of awesomeness so try and keep it exciting. Change environments a lot, you're in NYC so that shouldn't be very hard. Just stay away from the old and boring dinner + movie. Think art galleries, bookstores, museums, etc. Something where the environment is gonna give you something to talk about. Go ice skating in central park for example. Talk about crazy fantastic plans you could make together that will never happen, just to get her imagination going and get the "spirit of adventure" out of her. (Pretty important if you want stuff to happen while she's visiting) Mention it's a shame you missed each other a few years back because neither of you were single, but don't talk about it more than that. Remain mysterious and try not to talk about your feelings or emotions. Be occasionally cliche but don't be sappy. If you take her out, try and go with a few of your friends or set yourself up so you have the option of talking to her, but also the option of ignoring her. You want to do a push/pull and hot/cold when you're out with her so that she doesn't become saturated by your presence. Apart from that, be yourself. You already have chemistry, this is only a framework to let it happen. Good luck and tell me if you succeed ;)
