I've been procrastinating for years to improve my dating/sexual life, always finding excuses, but in fact I was simply afraid of breaking my comfort zone. I've been even postponing this very post. I've recently started reading Mark Manson's "Models" to start improving my lifestyle and understanding my own self. However, I feel lost when it comes to dating in Switzerland, as I live in one of the big, international Swiss cities.

Making friends is quite a challenge in Switzerland; locals tend to stick together with their childhood friends, even when living in different cities, and it can be really tough to break into a social circle. Both locals and expats usually advise you to join associations, events and meetups to get to know people. Although such events could be really great, joining associations breaks the entire point of "cold approach", if such thing actually exists. I can get very social in a closed group, however, I'd probably never make any serious move, for the fear of being ostracized from the group.

So, how can one meet and date women in such a conservative country, where talking to strangers is considered a taboo? I'd really feel much more liberated if I lived in the US or in the UK, although this supposed "ease" of talking to strangers might just be a bubble in my head. It's also another excuse of me, as I've visited the UK multiple times and approached zero women in total.

For reference, I'm a 30-35M and my target demographic is 18-25F. I have to admit, I am not "proud" of my target demographic, as I realize I am getting older and I "should" be adjusting my target. This group partially feeds my own neediness, as I've had little success with it in the past. I have a fair knowledge of the language, I am comfortable in the everyday life to talk to people and have short discussions, but not to the extent of actually dating women. Young Swiss people supposedly know English, but are not comfortable in speaking it.
