I had a volunteer job today where I essentially had to survey strangers in the city district * wink strangers who happened to predominantly consist of cute ladies*

I was dressed nicely and approached them in completely friendly non threatening way asking how their morning was going without it being obvious that I was going to survey them, so it was basically cold approach practice but it didn’t feel quite as nerve wracking.

After I hit my quota, despite some very lukewarm reception (besides an amicable elderly chap who wanted to tell me his life story) I was in a decent mood and decided to just cold approach a bunch of girls whilst I was out, which is very unlike me.

I know for a fact that I was operating at my peak charm and social prowess, even surprising myself with how witty I was being, besides being tall and well presented. I was also using indirect openers so they didn’t feel too cornered and didn’t go all direct and sexual.

All I can say is man people are more guarded than I’d thought. Nobody likes being pestered, and we still have to wear masks as covid cases are ramping up so that could be a factor but I was expecting more warmth from people. A bit more openness.

Many acted like I had just awoken them from a thousand year slumber and had an attitude of “that’s nice, now fuck off (and let me get back to my mundane day)”

Even the few who were clearly quite attracted to me and enjoyed the conversation had an underlying aura of unease as though they thought it was too good to be true and were waiting for me to pull a blade and order them into a panel van or something. Their discomfort made me uncomfortable - it sounds a bit arrogant but I’m certain it was the situation of being approached not the vibe I was exuding

Decided not to ask any for their numbers - though probable could’ve with 2 or 3

And I know their apprehension or annoyance is completely valid but fuck is this just how it is with daytime approaches these days?
