Here is a post from a guy on here who claims he is doing poorly with women, he can't get past a first date, can't hook up, etc:
If you want to know about me - I'm tall, relatively muscular, work out regularly, and fairly good looking. I have an interesting job, interesting hobbies, and a bright future. My major weakness up to this point has been social anxiety. I had virtually no social life in high school and college. I never had any romantic interactions with girls until this year. That has changed completely to the point where now I go out every weekend, and get invited to parties all the time. Since this summer I've kissed about a dozen girls and gone on about the same number of dates. I day game during my regular routine but all that ever leads to is 1) girl gives me her number and then doesn't respond 2) go on date with girl, girl continues texting for a day or two then ghosts me. Honestly I just want to understand what the fuck is going on that is causing me to strike out. Like in the case I described above - the girl texts me in the middle of freaking Christmas day asking how I'm doing. I respond positively and then... that's it? Game over? Did she expect me to call her at that point and then is being pissy because I didn't? Honestly if I had it to do over again I probably would have called her right then and there but I figured hey, I should probably text first and see if she's busy (I responded within 10 minutes). Honestly I feel it's probably just a matter of time but I am a goddamn impatient person. I finally started Tinder last week and have about 100 matches, been on 2 dates and have 3 more scheduled. But goddamnit this seduction stuff is the hardest fucking thing I've ever done. And I graduated undergrad with highest honors, now have a master's, 3.9+ GPA, good job in a great city, etc. etc. Not trying to humblebrag at all - it's just remarkable to me how it can work that way. I mean, I know plenty of guys from high school who barely graduated, have shit dead end jobs in a shit dead end town, and yet they are able to pull the ladies like they're Johnny fucking Depp.
Now I have explained most of my situation here many times... I'm older than this guy, have far less experience (with women, life, everything), I'm a bit autistic and cannot be forced into any "social mold," I'm far from brilliant, I have some hobbies but not much else going for me, I'm average looking (not tall, not muscular), no college degree and no ability to get one (learning issues), low prospects in all categories of life...
And yet I am told there is hope. But look at the comparison.. here we have a great looking guy who has everything going for him, and he can't pull it off. He can't figure out women and he has a life with loads of ambition.
Doesn't logic dictate.. that if he can't do it.. then it's a completely hopeless, lost cause for me? That's what my mind tells me.. and it's the worst feeling in the world.
Now, for those of you who don't want to confirm my worst fears.. give me your Cinderalla stories. Tell me about your learning-challenged autistic friend who lost his virginity at 32 years old, before which, had never been on a date. Tell me about your shy friend who isn't good at anything, but eventually improved with women because he pushed himself, and some women like his eccentric and mysterious ways.
Barring anything else, what do you folks feel about comparison logic? Is it a faulty way to look at this, or just a "realistic" (albeit depressing) way?
