So on Monday, the 18th, I had the best hour if my life so far. I live in the U.S, but I met up with an exchange student friend in her hometown of Vienna, Austria. That alone was an amazing feat. I mentioned it to her a few weeks in advance over Facebook and she was thrilled, she said she'd show me the city etc. Unfortunately I was with family from 3 hours outside Vienna, and they were tired and ready to drive back (it was roughly 5pm).

Any way, she had an appointment from 1-4, and a longer than expected bus ride to meet up with me. I went to the bus stop and greeted her with a great hu and we small talked while we walked to where my family was so she could meet them. After that we walked for a bit and sat on a park bench, next to each other. This is where I confuse myself.

She's very interested in America and she had a good part of the conversation to herself (I led with questions about European lifestyle etc and why she likes America) but she had her legs crossed and her body seemed closes off, although she was very into the convo.

She said she was gonna show me pictures of her school etc so I scooted in and put my arm behind her and she reacted neutrally, but didn't flinch or move away and we stayed like that for 10-15 minutes and that was that.

I got a text saying we had to leave (my luck is fucked) and I told her, and we walked back, occasionally I'd touch her shoulder while we talked and I made her laugh etc..

Am I looking too far into this or is body language different based on the girl?
