I have been talking to this girl for almost 2 months now and I still can’t figure out if she’s just being friendly or is interested in more than friendship.

For context I know her because I know her brother, her brother and I aren’t really close and we hang out cus he’s my best friends cousin. So I have meet her a few times when I have gone over to her house with my friend (they live 3 hrs away so every time my friend and I are in their city we stay over). So we never really had proper conversations just like hey how’s it going vibe. But then I replied to an IG story she posted. We ended up messaging quite a bit after, we both were sending mini essays and talking about more than 1 topic at a time. It was going good, I was just subtle flirting to see if she would give me any signs. She responded but never really flirted back and ended up using 😂 as a reaction to a few of em. But she kept the conversation going, although I was mostly the one asking questions or bringing things up. She would reply to every message I sent and it wouldn’t be one word replies either. But then she started doing this weird thing a week in, where she went from messaging everyday to disappearing in the middle for almost 3-4 days. I thought that’s was solid sign she just being friendly so I started to back off a little didn’t really ask any questions just more replied to what she was messaging. Then recently about 2 weeks ago she started to ask me questions and showing genuine interest in my hobbies. She also went from 😂 messages to hearting them quite a bit, even the ones where I am indirectly flirting with her (no straight up I think your cute or cute yes more of playfully talking about her habits or hobbies). But again she disappeared for 4 days and when she responded yesterday she sent paragraphs as responses, again hearting most of messages, and the asking if I have any travel plans and how’s my summer going. She also has this weird behaviour ever since we started messaging where she will open my messages read them but won’t reply right away will take a few minutes to hours to days but end up replying every time doesn’t leave me on read.

I am so confused with this hold and cold behaviour. Idk if I’m overthinking it but is there something there or is she just being friendly?
