Look into conversation threading. Lot written on this.

You should be taking their answers and expanding on them through your personal thoughts / experiences, which feed back into more questions / topics.

Don't be afraid to have opinions and share them. If you are nervous about appearing like an idiot commenting on something you don't know, I use the following line: "I haven't thought too much about it, but, ... "

Think about it like this - when you are asking lots of questions, you should be asking about things that could potentially show you also have a similar interest (or not) as a way to build closeness.

For example, if you ask a woman if she prefers to read books or watch TV, and she says books, and you like books, then you can say something like "Hey, so do I! What books have you read lately?" OR "Have you read [title]? I thought it was great!"

You can find out about anything she likes and then see if you have things in common.

On the flip side, if you find out she is into something you are not, you can use that to disqualify her and find someone who is a better match. Let's say you don't smoke, and she's a pack-a-day kind of woman, you can say "Oh, wow, well I am not a smoker, and I don't date smokers, so I think we probably won't be able to date seriously." Or whatever.

You don't have to - and I think you should not - be accepting of everything a woman does that you don't like. Being able to do things together that you like helps to build something quality, either short term or long term, depending on what you want.
