Dancing is the GOAT ice breaker, I’ve said it for years. It’s the easiest way to break the touch barrier and meet girls. I’ve met so many girls over the last 10-12 years going to clubs and bars dancing. Dudes go to clubs post up on the wall and get bitter when they go home and masturbate while other guys are on the dance floor getting numbers lol.
“I used to go out to parties, and stand around. Cause I was too nervous, to really get down”-Marvin Gaye

"touch barrier" LOL, its in your head, there is no such thing...

There is no such thing but many people are struggling to do that first touch, thus it becomes a thing.

exactly! its all mental
inner "game" is important, but "game" is just technical, analytical mumbo jumbo, just be honest, confident and go for it. be subtle.. dont touch her for the purpose of touching her, but touch her because the context calls for it - she did something nice or something cool happened? high fives. she is saying something incredible or ridiculous? laugh at her while lightly pushing her shoulder saying "no way".. shit like that.. you dont have to think about these things, its how to human 101...
these touches naturally escalate on their own.. all of a sudden, you find the girl sitting on your lap.. then all of a sudden, another chick in your class/friend group gets secretly jealous and in one of the breaks, she jumps on your lap... and you are left wondering wtf is happening...

Me and my partner love to dance, and a lot of times I notice how women who have not been dancing much through the night look at us wanting someone to invite them out to dance like that.
I like the little extra attention, but dancing is such a rewarding experience for a lot more also. Good advice. I have heard before dancing is like our maring ritual so go figure.

It depends on how you dance though. People can tell when you are dancing pretenciously or you are just vibin'. The latter is attractive, the first is not.

I want to learn to dance I think it’s fun but when I move I’ve been told like I look like I’m being forced to dance, how can someone learn to just vibe and look natural?

Listen to these club songs alone. Let them grow into you. Find some that you like the most. Dance them alone. At parties, have a couple of drinks.
Also, you can adjust your moves to the lyrics of the song. When the song says "you" point at someone, when it says something about flexing, flex, despite you not having expensive "equipment" on you. For example,at the lyrics "Let's get down to business, give you one more night to get this" of the song "Business", you can point down with two hands and then point at someone else and then show the number one with your hand. Do this while your body syncs with the rhythm.
Don't forget to smile. If you are not smiling, you are not liking what you are doing, and liking what you do is what you need to focus on when you go to parties/clubs/bars.
Hope this helped understanding some things.

The music I like to dance to at clubs is more bassline which I definitely listen to by myself and dance to by myself, however there’s hardly any lyrics and it’s more like edm if you’re confused. I still look weird dancing, don’t know what to do with my hands when the bass drops ahah

Well in that case, you should try to listen to more club music, some trap, some hits and try to embrace yourself in these types of music.

I would try to learn some kind of partner dance, like swing, blues, salsa, etc... Something that will let you actually physically connect with a woman, with appropriate touching. It should help get some of that nervousness out with your dancing, but you'll also learn some moves you can use in your own style of dancing. Like, for me, I learned contra first back in college, but I also joined an east coast swing dance club and learned to swing dance. And the thing about contra dancing, alot of the movements in contra are very similar to some of the moves in swing dancing. So, from a lot of practice, experiment, and taking time to break down how the moves can flow, and now when I go contra dancing, which is a called dance, I can still spice it up a little with all the women I'm dancing with by throwing in some swing dance moves.

pretentious is based on the insecurity of the observer
if youre good at something youre automatically judged for doing it well and having fun
my confidence + your insecurity = my pretentiousness
