Here was my go-to formula that worked well.

Keep it simple. Not meant to be overthought:

First date = casual drinks at a bar. Building rapport & getting to know each other. Relatively low pressure.

Second date = drinks again, this time in a social environment with friends. Evaluate how she is with others and if she’s a cool, down to earth person. If you made it this far, chances are she’s interested in you (also not a bad idea to try moving things forward at this stage).

Third date = something together. Museum, walk, gym, shopping, anything. By this stage, there’s probably a developed relationship. Anything after this date isn’t a date. It’s a casual, established relationship of some sort. At this stage you don’t need to overthink what you do. Just do shit. The fact that she’s willing to link up again means she’s invested in you. That’s a big differentiating factor (and it also means you’re past the “I need to impress/sell myself stage, which happens on date #1).
