A lot of guys unnecessarily spend a lot of money on dates early on in the dating process. I made this mistake as well, before I had more experience under my belt. The reason is that we have been conditioned to believe that attraction is a transaction-based system.
If the guy buys enough things and performs enough acts of devotion, it with ultimately be exchanged for her affection, which is completely inaccurate.
Attraction is the result of engaging emotions properly, not checking off an itemized list with a point threshold. Emotions are engaged by how you act, the experience you give her, making her feel safe, conveying sexuality in a calibrated manner. A guy who does these things will have more success in a hole in the wall pizza joint, than an overeager guy who pays for a nice dinner but expects her to have feelings in exchange for his purchase.
If you find yourself thinking in terms of a checklist to win her favor, remember that attraction is developed, not exchanged. The totality of the experience and your personal behavior is what makes the difference, not what you buy.
