I’m 28 years old, and I’ve always solely relied on dating apps to meet women. It’s been the only way I’ve been able to get dates at all. However, as we all know, dating apps have serious shortcomings and don’t always work reliably. In my case, the reality has always been that although I’ve been able to get matches or dates, I have to wait months or even years to find women on apps that I actually end up meeting up with. I have to swipe and swipe every day and keep doing so for such a prolonged period just for a chance at coming across someone worthwhile.

Real life loans me no opportunities to meet women organically, and to this very day I have NEVER once dated anyone I’ve initially met in real life. In real life, I never meet dateable women, and even if I did I wouldn’t know how to get a date out of it since I’ve made it to age 28 without never having dated somebody I’ve first met in real life. It never happened like that for me so I wouldn’t really know what to do. In any case I’m obliged by the way things are in my dating life to assume that I’ll never get a date from someone I’ve met organically, and that dating apps will always be the only way I get dates unless some major twist of fate happens.

Thus, I’m left using apps and putting up with all the shortcomings associated with them. By far the most frustrating thing, however, is how long I have to wait between opportunities. These long waiting times don’t really feel like something I can even control. I can’t control whether or not my profile gets shown to women that are more compatible with me, I can’t control whether or not women swipe right on my profile, I can’t control the algorithm of the app. I assume that it will always be the case that I’ll be waiting and waiting and waiting between one opportunity and the next. It seems like for myself and many other guys it’s just a part of life. However, is there anything I can do to make this reality more bearable? How do all of you deal with having to wait months or years between opportunities with women? Will it always be this way, that I’m just going to have to put up with all this waiting?
