I'm interested to hear advice about this. I'm used to dealing with AMOGs that try to use social dynamics, good looks or conversational dominance to try to muscle in on a set I'm with, but I'm completely in the dark about how to deal with AMOGs that attempt to muscle in, by using physical threats or action.
As an example, I was out the other night with a girl I'm with and a male friend, so technically we were a 3 set. An AMOG approached our set with a weak functional opener (asking for a light), then tried to lock in to the set by sitting down with us. This I actually didn't mind, although knowing my PUA, I could see exactly what he was trying to do (isolate the girl I was with, albeit weakly).
The problem is, when his efforts on the girl was failing and ultimately he was refusing to engage in group / or conversation with the men in the set - he started getting more aggressive. Initially ordering 'us' (the men) to buy the group shots, and for myself to give him a cigarette. Ultimately he was trying to show his 'dominance' / isolate the girl by trying to get rid of us.
I'm not that stupid and I'm definitely not buying some chump some shots so he can try to make a move on the girl I'm with. Looking over at said girl, she looks at me and mouths - 'This guy is a ****' gesturing at the AMOG.
The other male (my friend) in our group turns to me and tells me he knows the guy from school and the guy was the biggest bully in his school. I could tell my friend was physically afraid of this guy and had completely become introverted in his presence.
I try to turn the conversation back into a 'group' thing, not wanting to step on his toes too much, but he starts getting more aggressive again, barking orders to get him some shots / give him a cigarette due to 'who he was!' ... I told him, I neither knew who he was, or cared - but clearly to him, he thought he was some sort of big shot local who could bully anyone into doing anything for him.
After seeing the girl quite clearly distressed that the guy was starting to make advances at her, I asked him to leave.
At this point he got seriously aggressive and tried to show his AMOG qualities. He said 'Look mate, you don't want to mess with me - you don't know who I am or what I'm capable of' ... then once I stood firm he said 'If you're not careful, I'm going to knock you out - it's in your best interest to leave me with this girl and clear off' ... I stood firm again and made it clear he wasn't welcome within the group, and at this point he tells me 'We should step outside, so I can teach you a lesson'.
Ultimately, I didn't care if we did step outside, the guy was annoying the hell out of me and I would've happily risen to his challenge, but ultimately I thought it was best we all left together. So I gestured to my friend / the girl that we should leave and we did. Unsurprisingly the guy with the mouth, didn't come outside after us to show off how hard he was, but either way, he had pretty much ruined the atmosphere of our night since the girl was afraid we were going to bump into him again on the night and my friend was slightly shocked at how aggressive the guy was getting at me.
I've had a few of these situations in my life, I often try to defuse the situation and have been the AMOG trying to muscle in on sets before, but just backed down if the group is unhappy. However, I have no idea how to deal with this sort of thing, other than resorting to physical violence / threats back when faced with someone who is physically muscling in on my girl (reminds me of Biff, Loraine and Marty McFly's dad in the original back to the future).
