This is a tough one because it doesn't get talked about a lot. As guys we're expected to "get over it" quick and move on to the next. While its easy for some, it can be paralyzing for others often instilling a fear in them not to even try.
First of all we have to stop viewing it as rejection. There are billions of people out there, unique people with unique sets of traits that demand different sets of traits. If you view yourself as being rejected you're automatically devaluing yourself and determining yourself not worthy. But thats the thing, its more of compatibility thing. That quirky joke may be received badly by one person but another might consider it one of the funniest things they've ever heard. You need to value yourself by knowing who you are, your strengths and weaknesses etc. If you have issues of self esteem then thats something you should work on as this is key for you to keep trying. With a solid self esteem you gain confidence of presenting yourself to others. From there its a take it or leave it situation for theother party and all the problems lie with them.
However, you must realize that certain qualities need to be developed to increase your success. These qualities can only be determined through experience as different regions/areas have different interests. Practice makes perfect. In probability terms the more you try the more likely you are to succeed. This is a simple concept but its hard to actually do because of so many factors, thats why you need to be smart about it before a try. Be realistic, you can't approach 3 girls who are having drinks or a one that is on headphones working on her laptop. Don't set the limitations too low as this will give you an excuse not to try. The more you try the more you gain experience which is something that will help you identify your strengths and weakness at the same as increasing your chances.
No lie, you will be rejected, and this can also be a frustrating experience. You need to move on without carrying over this frustration and view each chance as a new experience because remember this is a completely new person who has their own unique set of traits. Once you have the confidence to present yourself and to keep trying, these will help you eadily get over the rejection phase. Of course its not as easy as it sounds but what is?
