I recently went bar hopping with a FWB and we ended up at a place with a long countertop bar.

We sat next this to older guy (50s) who was there by himself. He was obviously bored and kept trying to talk to anyone who gave him the time of day.

After a while he started talking to my FWB. It was completely platonic, but it also killed our vibe. He kept going on and on…

Due to the seating arrangement and noise it was hard for me to join in. I also found him annoying and not funny.

I ordered a drink and watched the game while he kept talking. Eventually I had enough and closed the tab, we then went to the next place.

The night ended well despite this. Wondering how you guys would have dealt with it?
