In all honesty if you have nothing to lose or don't value the friendship as much continue pursuing and ignore everyone that told you to give up. This pick up artist on YouTube did this experiment where he was extremely persistent with women that showed him low interest over text. After a couple months he eventually got her over his place and did the deed. So it's not impossible you just have to be smart about it.
