Why fear that which we experience every day? Being a man and getting rejected is like breathing the air. It's going to happen more often then not, so get used to it like breathing air. The mental torture of never knowing is far greater then the mental torture of getting rejected. You must go through a hundred rejections before you finally hit it. It is a numbers game. You will die one day... Don't live in fear of regret.

Oooh! I agree. I rather know than not know and live with regret

Honestly the solution is to “not give a shit.” But I understand you might not be at that level just yet to burden that weight.
So I’ll give you this: say things that make you confident that you’re not wrong. For example, a guy who’s obnoxious and way too pushy almost r*pey doesn’t feel shame or rejection, he believes in his own mind that he’s right. Now you’re the polar opposite, you’re not pushy enough because you think it’s wrong and bad. There’s nothing wrong or bad about trying to flirt with somebody, it’s wrong and bad when you make them uncomfortable or push too far when they tell you to stop. THATS bad. You have to know that you’re not a bad person for talking to somebody and you’re not bad if you read signals and see a green light to flirt.. EVEN IF you’re wrong and get rejected you aren’t a bad person for that. You’re only bad if you continue afterward and ignore that persons request. THAT is what you need to get through your head.. like do you believe girls don’t think that men are attracted to them? They know you’re attracted they want you to be attracted but they also get to choose who flirts with them and you won’t find out until you do flirt.
Above all else, gym, hobbies, career, etc. this solves 99% of male problems including yours.

Learn that rejection isn’t that bad, that it’s not humbling or humiliating. Part of the learning would include learning from getting rejected. Also, set yourself up for success ie approach in good conditions for you, that are not unreasonably difficult for you. Like if you don’t like dancing, loud music, alcohol, don’t go approaching women in a club.

What kind of scenario is this exactly? Could you give more details please?

Like just approaching or attempting to break out of my comfort zone, maybe go to a bar on a Friday night perhaps, or ask someone at the library what they’re reading
Yeah I know you don’t want to be a nuisance but I can’t think of other examples
Well it sounds like you suffer from a little bit of anxiety, which is perfectly normal.
You most likely think too critically of yourself, when there might be a woman out there who thinks you're really sexy and would love it if you approached and talked to her
