How long should a cold approach last? Will I have any success if I ask for a phone number almost immediately?

There really isn't a rule for this. I pretty much keep the conversation going but focus on her mood. If she gives off a vibe that immediately exudes disgust or apathy, I won't waste a minute longer. I'll just end the Convo politely and keep things moving. If she's answering and seems genuinely interested and I notice that, I steer the conversation towards securing the digits.

I spend as much time as it takes me to notice her mood. Girls aren't dumb, they know what you are there for more or less. So I won't keep a convo going for 10 minutes over sweet nothing. Let her know you think she's cute and you want to know her more by setting up a date if it takes 30 seconds to do this, then so be it.

5-10 mins will make the interactions more solid because you have more time to build attraction and emotional connection.

In one minute you don’t have enough time which means that we if you get numbers most will flake or give you excuses to not go out.

If you just say: “my name is Tom, i like dancing (or whatever hobby), what’s your number?”, then there is no connection build here, no attraction generated, and you definitely won’t spark her interest. That’s not seduction.

Attraction band connection needs to be built in person, not over the phone.

Women won’t go out with you unless you make them feel something, and in one minute with that type of generic conversation you can’t do that.

The faster you can get the number the better. Don’t rush the conversation, but seem like you have shit to do. She’s not going to fall in love with you that minute, but you sure as hell can fuck it up.

Just asking for numbers is stupid. She doesn't know why you're getting her number. You need enough time in the approach to tell her why you're approaching her / what you want. What you want is not her number. It's sex. Whether short term or long term. So say that and then exchange numbers.
