I think there’s more to this story. For one you mentioned that you frequent the Starbucks where you approached the group of girls. If you do this regularly you’ve probably developed a reputation of a guy who tries to pickup girls there. You never wanna do that or be that guy. Not saying those dudes are justified in calling you out, but you should find other places to approach to avoid this situation entirely

Yeah dude, don’t blow up a particular spot because people will recognize you after a couple times

Since you wanna just meet friends, and especially the female ones, have you considered getting a dog? You can adopt one for free, and while you're doing a good thing, it's easier to approach to people and especially fellow dog owners, especially in dog parks. Besides it's healthier because you're walking and not drinking unnecessary amounts of caffeine. Idk that's the best I can suggest you

Well I'm not judging you, if that's what you do that's what you do. Every hobby can have its downsides or risks, and what happened today was one of these things than can happen. So yeah don't let these things discourage you from doing what you love and good luck!

These type of situations is a signal that u are doing something wrong with your approach. Possible mistakes include:
1) u don’t assert whether those women want to be approached in a first place. For example, people who want to be left alone most likely will choose to sit at the back of the coffee shop. They will also be into their phones, laptops or read books, or will be deeply engaged in the conversation. So u definitely want to avoid approaching them.
2) you make too much of noise. The general rule is that bystanders must perceive the social situation as friends meeting each other. If u give the vibe that u are hitting on them then u need to fix your vibe.
3) u are approaching in the same venue too much

Basically u have only one shot. If u approach a table and get rejected every one in the venue will see that, your value goes low. So u can’t approach second one and have to wait when people will change.
But you also have to remember about recurring customers, and there are lots of them. For example u approach a table, a woman saw it, and thought it was funny at first. Then next day she sees u a second time doing the same thing, now she thinks about u not as funny but as creep. Worst if u continue doin, she might even tell on you, as might happen in your situation.
Another rule is to not to forget a staff. And trust me, they will know and most likely will give u a nickname.
My advise for u is to change your approach. Unless you make a coffee shop YOUR social venue it won’t work and u always be a creep.
However u can fix it by simply being a guy who just talks with everyone. To do it u have to talk literally with everyone, with guys, women, staff every time u visit a shop. Then people will perceive u not as a creep but as quirky, social guy who is just friendly with everyone.

Girls go to starbucks just wanna get in, get coffee and gtfo. Picking the location of your battles is half the fight.
Now if you tell me that you number closed or bed closed 12 chicks do the Starbucks routine then keep at it but for me I prefer the path of least resistance and that's usually in very "social" areas ie bars, clubs, parties, etc.

What % of those number closes ended up being dates?

Idk honestly you'll have to compare that with other field reports of dudes who pick up chicks at Starbucks
